JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Role Purpose
The Finance Compliance Officer is a key governance role responsible for ensuring end-to-end compliance across all financial activities within the organization. This includes but is not limited to sales, procurement, payments, budgeting, taxation, and financial close processes.
The Finance Compliance Officer acts as a second line of defense, working across departments to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks, and to uphold transparent, accurate, and ethical financial practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
• Ensure full adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks covering all finance domains: budgeting, accounting, treasury, taxation, financial reporting, procurement, and payments.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial compliance risks across all processes and departments.
• Conduct risk-based reviews of financial processes and transactions to ensure appropriate checks, authorizations, and reconciliations are in place.
• Coordinate and support internal and external financial audits, ensuring all documentation and explanations meet audit standards.
• Ensure that audit findings are remediated promptly, with permanent solutions implemented across departments.
• Participate in the design and implementation of internal financial controls and policies that prevent fraud, errors, and misreporting.
• Validate adherence to budget approval processes across all business units.
• Oversee financial risk and compliance within vendor engagement, contract execution, and procurement workflows.
• Verify that terms of payment, pricing, penalties, and tax clauses are financially sound and compliant.
• Deliver compliance training sessions, tools, and resources to Finance, Legal, Procurement, and operational teams.
• Produce regular compliance dashboards, exception reports, and escalations for the CFO.
• Reduces compliance risk exposure across operational, tax, treasury, and reporting domains.
• Enhances business continuity through standardized, well-documented financial practices.
• Reinforces financial accountability across all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Internal Audit, or a related field; professional certifications (ex: ACCA, CPA) are a strong plus.• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in financial compliance, internal audit, or risk management.
• Proven track record in enforcing financial controls and conducting compliance reviews or audits.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and ethical judgment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• In-depth understanding of financial processes from end to end: budgeting, accounting, tax, treasury, reporting, procurement, and systems.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial workflow tools such as Dynamics 365.
