Job description
1. Day-to-day gym operation. Coordinate and recommend new ideas or ways to increase revenues and achieve monthly financial targets.
2. Teach a variety of fitness classes and one-to-one training as scheduled. Assist members and guests in their personal workout programs. Uphold a professional image and effective fitness procedures, programs, and activities in the workout room—ensuring correct exercise practice at all times.
3. Carry out fitness testing, evaluations, design workout programs, and provide fitness instruction. Assist in giving cross-training lectures for other team members who are doing their cross-training exposure to the department.
4. Supervise the cleanliness and maintenance of the fitness center (gym), ensuring cleaning standards are met and gym machines and equipment are always in good working condition. Report any machine or equipment damage or issues to the direct head or the concerned department.
5. Have complete knowledge of the services the recreation department and the hotel are offering. Keep abreast of new offers or promotions from other departments and upsell to guests so they can experience these activities.
6. Work closely with team members of the department and develop a strong working environment with other departments.
7. Attract and motivate guests to use the fitness facilities and its services.
8. Prepare purchase requisitions, order supplies and materials. Respond to guest complaints, inquiries, and requests for information.
9. Be able to assume other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Certified fitness instructor
- Fluency in English; foreign languages are an advantage
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- A friendly and outgoing behavior
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
- Strong decision-making abilities
