JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Summary
The Facade Designer participates in facade design activities for various projects in the design center. He / She closely works with project teams on the development schematic designs, detailed designs and tender documents which accommodate the requirements of the client, local authorities, architectural standards and codes of practice and the requirements of other disciplines. He / She shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the architectural design field and represent the firm and share his expertise and knowledge with other team members.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute the design, engineering, and documentation processes, providing specialized input to resolve technical challenges and ensuring the quality of products and services for assigned projects.
• Collaborate closely with Team Leaders or Project Leaders on all technical aspects related to projects.
• Work closely with various engineering disciplines, such as architecture, structure, mechanical, and specification writers, to ensure the development of an integrated and optimized façade design.
• Support project teams in various aspects of project implementation, including site and factory inspections, quality assurance, audits, report preparation, etc.
• Work on defined tasks with limited supervision, demonstrating autonomy in responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to agreed deadlines for project deliverables.
• Capable to perform thermal design and analysis calculations using applicable codes, standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
• Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare façade engineering design documents.
Requirements:
• Capable to develop various façade systems details and relevant interfaces between different elements and components taking into account façade performance characteristics• Good hand sketching skills
• Good knowledge of materials, including their appropriate uses and behavior across various environmental conditions.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a must
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (eg Therm, Flixo, Rhino Grasshopper, Building Energy Modeling) is preferred.
• Knowledge of Autodesk inventor is a plus
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop is preferred
Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural,
• +5 years Façade Engineering experience
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English & Arabic
