About the role

Purpose of the job
This role is for a technical engineer responsible for overseeing indoor and outdoor quality of service (QoS) benchmarking campaigns for voice, VoLTE, and data services across 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies. You will lead the analysis of network performance measurements to evaluate customer experience, identify quality issues, and assess our competitive positioning. The purpose is to generate clear, actionable insights that drive proactive network improvements and ensure superior service quality.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of benchmarking results (voice/VoLTE/data) and generate comprehensive reports on KPIs (e.g., call quality, dropped calls, data throughput) for management.
  • Continuously monitor access network performance using KPIs, counters, and field measurement tools (e.g., geolocation data); track chronic issues to resolution.
  • Provide first-line technical support to field teams during drive tests, including tool troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Initiate and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing network QoS and overall customer experience.
  • Calibrate and optimize measurement tools for accuracy. Develop and implement in-house scripts and tools to automate analysis and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Perform advanced analysis using packet captures (PCAP), L3 messaging, and signaling flows to identify network bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, identifying skill gaps and supporting their professional development.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new benchmarking tools and technologies from suppliers. Responsible for service management systems deployments:
  • Apply knowledge across radio, core, BSS, and transmission domains to provide end-to-end issue resolution.
  • Take full ownership of all assigned tasks and responsibilities within the designated project scopes.

Job specification

Education
Bachelors degree in communications/electronics engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications, specifically in QoS benchmarking, network validation, or optimization.
  • Proficiency with tools such as TEMS Investigation and MapInfo.
  • Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, VoLTE, and related signaling flows.
  • Experience with drive test data analysis and performance reporting.
  • Experience with KPI analysis, optimization features, and parameter tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with NEMO field tools and NEMO Analyzer.
  • Knowledge of core network and transmission domains.
  • Programming/scripting skills for automation (e.g., SQL, Python).
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
