JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Position objective
The position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing and issuing merchandise for use in the shop.
Key responsibilities
- Receive merchandise and count it physically and electronically in order to ensure accuracy of information.
- Inspect the quality of the products and report discrepancies to the store manager or assistant store manager about damaged products.
- Classify and stock the products in the stock room as per store procedures to ensure quick availability of the product.
- Tag newly arrived stock and/or return products as per the instructions of seniors.
- Assist the sales staff in replenishing stocks on the shelves to ensure availability of products at all times.
- Maintain awareness and vigilance at all times regarding security in the store without any negligence.
- Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping.
- Be flexible to work extended hours during sale or festival periods.
- Be physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items.
- Record inventory inward and outward movements and maintain reports accordingly.
- Check for missing price tags and report them.
- Assist during stock take processes.
