JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Summary:
The BIM Modeler contributes to the development and delivery of digital engineering models and design documentation, including 2D drawings, 3D models, and visualizations for water and environment projects. This role ensures the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and standards, contributing to the success of the infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage 3D infrastructure models using Civil 3D and other BIM tools
• Collaborate closely with civil engineers, designers, and other discipline leads to ensure model accuracy, alignment, and constructability
• Translate civil engineering designs and survey data into coordinated BIM models
• Prepare detailed construction-ready drawings and extract quantities (BOQs) directly from BIM models
• Conduct clash detection and interference checks across civil and multi-disciplinary models using Navisworks or similar coordination tools
• Implement and maintain project-specific BIM workflows in alignment with ISO 19650 standards, company protocols, and client requirements
• Collaborate with project stakeholders through cloud-based platforms to facilitate real-time design coordination and approvals
• Generate model-based visualizations, simulations, and animations to support design presentations and stakeholder engagement
• Maintain proper version control and model documentation to ensure traceability and auditability
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and contribute to design reviews, offering technical insights and suggestions for digital delivery improvements
Requirements:
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:• Technical diploma or university degree in civil engineering, water engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a BIM-related role with proven experience in infrastructure (water or transportation) projects
• Proficient in Civil 3D and BIM360, with experience in an engineering or design environment
• Working knowledge of Navisworks for model review and clash detection
• Familiar with BIM processes and the implementation of BIM standards in real projects
• Understanding of ISO 19650 or other relevant BIM and data management standards
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
