JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Guildhall is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee all accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting activities across our client’s organization and its subsidiaries/SPVs, who is a leading Saudi investment and development group with a diversified portfolio spanning energy, infrastructure, utilities, and industrial ventures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate IFRS reporting, internal controls, and effective financial governance across both corporate and project entities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements (Group + SPVs) in accordance with IFRS.
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage the chart of accounts and standardize accounting policies across entities.
• Oversee intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Deliver management reporting packages, variance analyses, and performance dashboards.
2. Audit, Compliance & Governance
• Lead annual external audits and quarterly reviews in coordination with Big 4 auditors.
• Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls and compliance procedures.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS, ZATCA, and CMA regulations.
• Support internal audit activities and implement recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting Support
• Partner with FP&A and Project Finance teams to reconcile actuals against budgets and forecasts.
• Validate OPEX, CAPEX, and revenue allocations across business units and projects.
• Monitor key financial KPIs such as EBITDA, DSCR, and cash flow performance.
4. Treasury & Cashflow Coordination
• Support Treasury in maintaining liquidity and optimizing intercompany funding structures.
• Track loan covenants, DSRA balances, and project-level cash waterfall statements.
• Review payment runs and ensure adherence to approval hierarchies and internal controls.
5. Project SPV Oversight
• Supervise SPV and project-level accountants and controllers.
• Standardize financial governance across SPVs and JV entities.
• Consolidate SPV financials into group reporting and review lender compliance certificates.
6. Systems & Process Improvement
• Maintain and optimize ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or MS Dynamics).
• Drive automation initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong exposure to group consolidation, audit processes, SPV management, and IFRS reporting.
• Compliance with IFRS, ZATCA, and lender covenants.
• Experience within energy, development, or investment sectors is advantageous.
