JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse is working with an elite international law firm, who is looking to hire a Senior Finance Associate for its Dubai-based Finance practice. The group is known for handling both conventional and Islamic finance as well as restructuring across the GCC and wider EMEA. This role shall work closely with partners and clients to structure innovative financing solutions, leveraging deep sector knowledge and Sharia-compliant expertise.
In this role, the associate will advise clients on sophisticated, cross-border matters and act as a team lead for juniors. Clients include global and regional banks, government-related bodies, sovereign investors, family offices and major corporates. The Associate will also advise on financings related to acquisitions, projects, real estate, alongside debt workouts, insolvency mandates, with strong exposure to construction, infrastructure, energy, renewables and TMT.
This role will lead and manage complex financing and restructuring transactions, covering both conventional and Islamic structures. Advising lenders, sponsors and government-related entities on project, real estate, and acquisition financings across the GCC and Europe. In addition, the Associate will draft, review and negotiate key finance documentation, including common terms agreements, facilities, intercreditor and security packages.
Other responsibilities will include overseeing debt restructuring, insolvency and refinancing mandates involving multi-jurisdictional elements. Supervising and mentoring junior associates, ensuring quality and consistency across workstreams.
Requirements:
The firm is looking to recruit an experience Associate with 6+ PQE in banking/finance with a strong track record on complex cross-border transactions at an international or top regional firm. Common law qualified (e.g., England & Wales) strongly preferred. The ideal candidate must also have significant experience across project, real estate, acquisition finance, comfortable on both conventional and Sharia-compliant structures.The successful candidate must be confident leading transactions end-to-end: running workstreams, CP/CS, coordinating multi-jurisdictional diligence, and driving execution with minimal oversight. Advanced knowledge of drafting and negotiation of CTAs, facility agreements, intercreditor and security packages is essential for this role. The ideal candidate should be confident engaging with banks, ECAs, sponsors and government-related entities. Exposure to restructurings, insolvency matters and refinancing mandates will be considered an advantage.
Prior Middle East experience advantageous - otherwise a genuine commitment to relocating to Dubai is essential. Arabic language skills would be a plus.
