Job purpose
To maintain all company data in those systems for which responsible (Lido, CORE, Overflight Permission Tool) and maintain a programme of quality assurance to ensure all data entered into Lido, and used in flight planning is correct. In addition, the flight support office will be responsible for maintaining the required company data in the route manual.
Job outline
To apply for all overflight approvals for Emirates scheduled flights, both bi-annually and any ad-hoc extra sections, deliveries, and charters. In addition, the overflight requests from the cargo department will be handled including flights conducted by third-party operators. Cargo charters will be handled on an ad-hoc basis.
Check, maintain, and update the required information in the Flight Planning System (Lido), CORE Operations Control Systems to ensure the data integrity and the flight plans are produced on current and accurate data. Check, maintain, and update on a weekly basis the NOTAM database in Lido for any NOTAMs that can be withdrawn or cancelled plus maintain on a daily basis any required company NOTAMs that need to be input into Lido.
Maintain a database of contact details for those agencies which Emirates Flight Dispatch and Flight Support need to liaise with. This includes Air Traffic Control Units, State Civil Aviation Authorities dealing with overflights plus ATC at Emirates online destinations and alternates. Maintain Emirates airport directory files and the airport database.
Support the ASM Planning & ATM to produce operational flight plans required for route analysis which may be required for a) analysis of new city pair, b) route change proposals for Air Traffic Service Providers, c) plans for the Flight Training department, or d) delivery flights. Establish procedures for Emirates delivery flights, in coordination with Navigation Services, so that the dispatchers on duty are aware of the requirements.
Liaise with Emirates stations to set up procedures for existing operational handling, newly appointed handling agents, or new stations coming online. Maintain this data in the airport database. Additionally, problem analysis and solving of issues raised in the action tracker and Pilots Special Reports in regards to Flight Operations Support functions.
Responsible for regularly updating the Emirates Route Manual and Operations Manual Part C. Ensure all amendments are thoroughly examined and researched and the implications of changes or introduction noted and put up final drafts for Flight Ops Management approval. Jobholder must ensure that the Route Manual is regularly amended and not in conflict with information provided by charting vendor and AIPs. Review, maintain, and update the Route and Aerodrome Guide (RAIG) and maintain within Lido the same data.
Research on an ongoing basis and take a proactive approach in putting up proposals in the revisions or updating of the Route Manuals and Operations Manual Part C. Proactively research information that Emirates will need for its ongoing expansion, e.g., change of aircraft type, alternate destinations, and new destinations. Pre-empt possible problems for operations and provide information and solutions.
Support the ASM in managing the update of FOS content, data, and software on all fleets' Electronic Flight Bags. Assist and support in the evaluation of EFB enhancements to ensure the delivery of data to crews encapsulates the latest EFB technology.
Conduct performance reviews for direct reports. Monitor their performance and service standards ensuring that at all times the flight operations department's requirements have been met within budgetary and quality standards.
Qualification
Qualifications & experience
Flight Dispatch or other industry qualification is preferable.
Experience with an airline in the Operations Department and/or 2 years' experience within Emirates Operations Control as a Flight Dispatcher.
Knowledge/skills
Minimum of 2 years' experience managing content of Electronic Flight Bags required for a global network.
Familiar with managing and updating of Flight Operations manuals and documentation.
