Lead Mechanical & Structural Engineer (Port Cranes)

JOB PURPOSE
The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the estimation and costing and installation, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical & structural systems works undertaken by the company project delivery engineers and technicians.

This role ensures that all mechanical and structural services such as crane mechanical, hydraulic and fire protection systems are refurbished and installed and commissioned according to industry standards and project specifications.

The role will lead the company site team also coordinate with contractors, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Responsible for budget sales and segment growth and oversee project management of all company projects.
• Management of Site Team
• Plan, manage and oversee the site mechanical/structural and associated works undertaken by company
• Ensure works are completed on time and within budgets
• Plan and Schedule all works in close collaboration with company PMO
• Provide technical expertise and guidance and training to the company team ensuring specifications and quality standards are adhered to.
• Undertake site visits as required to keep the team engaged and stake holder expectation managed.
• Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required with Crane services department Procurement team
• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions
• Evaluate current processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Implement innovative solutions to improve project delivery and service quality
• Produce weekly project status reports with variance tracking
• Review Relevant Reports produced by the team relating to your area of work
• Multi-Tasking in a fast paced environment
• Sales, Tenders / Bids Preparation & Budgets
• Prepare offers to clients for project related works
• Prepare Tender bid and quotations for submissions for project work
• Working closely with affiliated Suppliers, Contractors & the Crane services team
• Prepare budgets and estimates for future work Safety Adherence
• Ensure personal contribution towards safety standards and implementation of safety policies across the WCS team globally acting as both an implementer where necessary and as a guide for others within the team.
• Ensure company safety standards are administered on site Crane services department Ambassador
• Act as an ambassador of cranes services at all times when engaging with clients, suppliers and contractors, ensuring and demonstrating positive behaviour, values and culture of company is promoted in all aspects of your work in an ethical manner.
• Confidence in communication at all levels within an organization and well developed presentation skills.
