JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
The Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the installation of HVAC systems, providing essential support to the supervision team in managing construction sites. This includes conducting thorough quality inspections and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards. The engineer is responsible for monitoring the daily activities of contractors and assessing the allocation of resources in relation to the established construction schedules. Additionally, during the Hand-Over and Defects Liability Period, the engineer collaborates closely with senior members of the supervision team to facilitate commissioning and testing activities, ensuring that all systems function optimally and meet the required specifications before final acceptance.
Oversee mechanical systems installation for HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting, ensuring compliance with international and Saudi codes.
Conduct thorough reviews of shop drawings to verify their accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all elements align with the contract documents.
This process involves meticulous examination of design details, dimensions, and materials to confirm compliance with project specifications and standards.
Facilitate effective coordination among various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to address any discrepancies or concerns that may arise during the construction phase.
Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality and in a cost-effective manner.
Support Project Managers with organizing inspections by third parties, as needed.
Conduct technical coordination between different trades (MEP, structural, and architectural teams) using BIM and Revit.
Supervise site execution, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Provide technical expertise in resolving design and execution challenges.
Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, materials, and submittals.
Ensure compliance with international and Saudi standards in mechanical design and installation.
Lead and manage site teams, ensuring smooth project execution and collaboration with contractors.
Conduct quality inspections on contractors and subcontractors with the QA / QC Engineer and identify and raise quality issues, as needed.
Closely work with the QA / QC Engineer on the development and implementation of quality
Provide input to Planning Engineers for the development of project progress reports, as needed
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum Experience:
15-20 years of experience in a similar role.
